WHAT IS KC BOOK BEAT?

KC Book Beat is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting the vibrant literary community in and around Kansas City. 

We publish a biannual catalog featuring books by local authors, bookstore spotlights, and community-driven literary content. Beyond the catalog, we organize engaging events like Lit & Libations, a unique book fair and conference for authors and readers, and collaborates with schools, libraries, and businesses to foster a love for reading and storytelling.

Through partnerships, sponsorships, and a deep connection to the community, KC Book Beat is a hub for elevating local literature and encouraging cultural engagement.Join us in supporting local storytelling and enriching our community's cultural landscape.

Staci Hubbard, founder of KC Book Beat, is Kansas City's indie author hype-woman. She is passionate about connecting local authors and readers. She champions indie authors and fosters a vibrant literary community in the Kansas City area.
