A day for books,
tea, and good company.

Cozy Fest is KC Book Beat's celebration of the books that feel like home — the kind you stay up too late reading, that you press into a friend's hands and say "you need this."

Inspired by Jane Austen's world — wit, warmth, drawing rooms, and romance — this year's fair brings together independent authors, small publishers, and bookish makers inside one of Kansas City's most beautiful historic landmarks.

  • Independent and local authors across cozy, romance, and historical fiction
  • Artisan vendors with bookish goods and gifts
  • Tea service and refreshments throughout the day
  • Regency-era themed décor in a genuinely historic setting
  • Alcohol-free and family-friendly

"It is a truth universally acknowledged…"

…that a reader always needs more books. Come find your next one surrounded by people who take their TBR as seriously as you do.

Alexander Major's Barn & House

8201 State Line Rd  ·  Kansas City, MO 64114

One of Kansas City's oldest surviving structures, the Alexander Majors House is a Greek Revival landmark built in 1856. Its preserved timber barn — soaring ceilings, chandelier light, warm wood details — becomes our marketplace for the day. The kind of setting that makes a book fair feel like a scene from a novel.

An afternoon that belongs
entirely to reading.

Meet Authors

Browse directly from independent and local authors writing cozy, romance, historical fiction, and literary fiction.

Tea Service

A proper afternoon tea, because no Jane Austen event is complete without it. Refreshments served throughout.

Regency Atmosphere

Period-inspired décor inside a landmark built the same decade Austen's novels first reached American shores.

Bookish Goods

Artisan vendors with handcrafted goods, gifts, and accessories curated for the cozy reading life.

The only thing better than
a good book is a room full of them.
